Arizona ranks 3rd for missing Indigenous people. New bill hopes to change that with emergency alert

I reported on Arizona’s proposed alert system for missing Indigenous and endangered individuals (HB2281), aimed at combating the state’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous People crisis. I interviewed Arizona legislators backing the bill, Washington state law enforcement and task force members, an MMIP advocate, and the head councilman of the Zuni Pueblo in Arizona. The story emphasized systemic struggles for Native populations and state approaches to the MMIP crisis.
